Hey, just wanted to catch up with friends, family and fans of The Pictures Band - keepin’ it real in Texas…and Beyond!!
A couple of highlights - last Thursday, October 18th, we were excited to be asked to be the band for the Austin Big Fake Wedding - tons of great local vendors got to show off their best stuff for nearly 100 brides and grooms. Hosted by the great Addison Grove venue, we want to thank Callie Rogers for doing such a great job coordinating the event. A special shoutout to my friend Elana Pearlman of Iced Cakes and Confections for bringing some delicious sweet treats!
Friday night OCT 19, brought us to Tyler, Tx for the annual Rose Festival party - about 850 people packed the Country Club and danced like crazy til midnight - Our congratulations to the Rose Queen of 2018, Her Majesty Amanda Hiles.
We had a wedding blowout in Waco Saturday night Oct 20, with Madeline and Daniel, the happy newlyweds, and even had a surprise appearance by Bruiser, the Baylor mascot, who entertained the crowd and had a special on-stage dance with the Bride and Groom - definitely a night to remember! (Jump Around was an especially popular request!!!)
Friday night, the 26th, we brought a full 4-piece horn section with us all the way out to Alexandria, LA for a giant LSU fundraiser, our 3rd time there. We had some great boudin balls, crawfish pies and a whole lot more tasty Cajun food before the party and then did a marathon 3-hour set for an extremely appreciative crowd - looking forward to next year already!!
Last, but surely not least, we spent Saturday night OCT 27 at the very stylish Hotel Emma with our latest bridal couple; Brandon and Elizabeth and their lovely families and friends. We highly recommend Hotel Emma for the modern/vintage/industrial steampunk sort of esthetic, really a unique venue with friendly professional staff.
Ok, that’s all for this edition; some of us are heading out to Marfa and Big Bend to do some hiking and get some fresh air, those of us near Lake Travis are still recovering from the crazy flooding of the past few weeks, but looking forward to the next adventure! Talk with y’all soon - be well and come see us!
P.S. - Next public appearance at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse (near Lake Travis) for Nov. 23 - Black Friday - if the weather holds (CALL FIRST, they may call the season earlier this year) and hopefully we’ll be there for all of your post-shopping drinking/eating/dancing needs!!!
